I can't believe I didn't post last week! Things have been so crazy I've been losing track of time. I have a friend visiting me at Hogwarts this week and I guess with all the fun we've had I don't know what day it is! Sorry guys. I guess my first one being so late in the game isn't SO bad...but still.

So, I get a call from my Mom the day before I fly home from my amazing vacation in LA saying that a little Owl had been there!! This was SO great because it gave me something to look forward to once I got home because I knew I would be super depressed about leaving my friends. And I was!! But my spirits were brightened when I saw this on the table!

Sam watched as everything was unloaded out of the box with much interest...until I pulled out the camera. He was apparently not up for a photo op as you can see him jumping away.

A cute little Owl came with everything bearing a message:

This bag is so cute. I love shoes. I love bags. It was full of win! "omg shoes!"

I was stoked to get this great bag with a cute heart zipper tag in such a nice black and white print and was surprised to see that when I opened it there were little goodies inside!! Exploding Bonbons and chocolate GOLD! Like the bag wasn't enough! Plus, and I don't know how she knew this, but also included was a bag of my favovorite old fashioned candy! Totally salivating right now...Mm....

This was a total surprise. A recipe for Treacle Tarts! I'm going to make these ASAP. Seriously.

Knitting accessories in abundance! A set of DPNs, circular needle, knitting gauge (always been meaning to get one but never did so yay!) a set of GORGEOUS stitch markers which are on a super cute bracelet!

And in the tiniest package came these hand made earrings! I just got my left ear re-pierced while I was in LA so I can actually wear these now!!

Super cute tiny socks! I hate to say I'm not 100% sure what they're used for, but I've been thinking like a bookmark, or decoration, or whatever! Either way, cute and awesome!

A sock pattern and a really beautiful hand painted yarn, plus black and yellow! <3 Brigid is totally observing this picture.

And what else?! Could there possibly be MORE?!?!!? YES! YES THERE CAN!!! A book on how to knit socks on 2 circular needles!! Who's been wanting to learn that for like forever? Me!

Oh, and how can I forget THIS amazing creation? A bag so big and beautiful that it can hold ALL the stuff I got plus MORE!? I love the quilted fabric, the flannel HP lining, the decorative yellow stitching, the pocket on the outside, the big cute button...*GASP!* It's so amazing, I've been truly spoiled out of my mind!

Thank you SO MUCH Penelope of Flitwick!! You went above and beyond and everything is very appreciated. Plus I forgot to post saying that in addition she sent me Goat Milk Soap and Body Lotion earlier in the month! They smell so delicious and I've already put a good dent in them lol. <3 So yes, thank you thank you thank you! You've been so sweet through this whole thing with every email and I hope we can keep in contact even after this swap has ended!

Today wasn't fun for him! First he had to go to the vet for his yearly checkup and shot. Then I had to give him a bath and my Sam HATES WATER!!! But he needed it, especially after being at the vet's, even though it's a really clean place. I'm just weird like that I guess!

But now he's nice and dry again and in a much better mood. Sorry to anyone who might have tried to approach him to give him some love if he turned tail and ran quite rudely and out of character!!

Well this is a good opportunity to share a story from my childhood with everyone! What a fun quiz!

Ok, so before I got into my teen years my parents would throw these great kid themed birthday parties for me and my 3 older brothers. Sure, we had all the typical things, cake, food, gift giving, lots of friends being over...but everyone's favorite part of our parties were, of course, catch the Diricawl! The plump, flightless bird escapes danger by vanishing in a burst of feathers.

See, the point of the game was to sneak up and catch on one of the Diricawls that my parents would release without it noticing you or scaring it. Of course, we all knew if you didn't manage to do it successfully...POOF!! There'd be so many feather all over you it'd be impossible to hide!

My parents and the other adults would just watch us from above on the deck. We have great video footage of kids running around and explosions of feathers happening in every direction!

Well, after a few minutes of us TRYING to be somewhat stealthy us kids would just get antsy and run at the Diricawls to scare them on purpose just to see how could get covered in the MOST feathers! Oh wow...good times. It always upset my oldest twin brothers would actually wanted to try to catch them without being 'feathered'. BOYS!

Anyway, that's my story! Hope everyone enjoyed it who might be reading all this!!

So after seeing about Emma's little contest it really got me thinking about my knitting firsts.

Even though I started knitting last summer I only started to really get into it during the winter break. Then Spring break led to a lot of firsts while doing little Easter projects, but really HSKS has pushed me more than anything.

While making the bag for my spoilee I've learned TONS of new things! Here's my list of firsts:
- 1st time making an icord (I linked the pictures so my spoilee doesn't happen upon them if she doesn't want to see!)

- 1st time using circular needles
You can see the needles a little at the top
- 1st time picking up stitches
- 1st time felting
Now Felted!!!
- 1st time lining a knit bag.
- 1st time using Noro yarn! すごいですね！ (that means 'awesome!' in Japanese)

I made it back from the magical world of Disney! I'm a bit sore...and burned...and totally exhausted BUT it was good fun. Expedition Everest was...amazing! But it was HOT. Very. Very. Hot. And if I get my phone and camera working right again (my portable electronics are going on strike it seems) I'll have pictures posted here too of the trip.

Anyway! Thanks to Eleanor for watching Sam and Lavender for taking notes for me. It was very nice of you guys and I appreciate it a lot!

Oh, and what did I come back to? A comment saying I won the first quiz's drawing! I'm very appreciative. <3

And just one more thing, sorry for my bad spelling in the last quiz! Who knew orchid had an 'h' in it? Not me apparently! But thanks to those who helped me out with that.

This morning my parents took me from horwarts to have an overnight trip at a different magical place. Where? Disney world! We're going to meet up with my brother and his wife who are visiting there too so it should be fun!

We're going to the animal kingdom and its my first time so that's even more exciting since its the only park I haven't been to. Yay!

I'll take lots of fun picture to share with everyone when I get back!

I got some free time to meet up with Cat and really got to know some of her interests. We both share a love of Starbucks and as anyone who shares our love would know it makes you feel closer to a person when you learn they're a fellow addict!

Anyway, now I feel like I can really start on her package and have the items I pick out and make be perfect for her! I can't wait for her to get it!!

Oh, and I haven't introduced my cat to everyone yet. He's only just gotten used to so many people being around and feeling comfortable enough to venture out of my bed.

As you can see he's pretty much claimed that rocking chair in the common room. So don't sit on him please!! Oh, and he's nice so you can feel free to pet him. He's not really into being held though, and he's a little skittish but very sweet! <3

I got a new 'Mobile Owl' and wanted to make a cute case for it. I bought a skein of discounted but very pretty pink yarn for only $2.50 (originally $8.00!) and used a bit of it to knit this new awesome 'sock' as the patterned called it.
